Sophie Update

kids

What a difference a day makes! This morning it was truly touch and go with Sophie’s breathing, and tonight they are already considering putting her into a normal room because she has made a complete turn around. Praise God!

Apparently being large has its perks! Fortunately, Sophie gets her girth from her mother, rather than having a girlish figure like her dad…(not sure why Shannon is laughing hysterically as I type this.) Anyway, they said that due to Sophie being bigger and stronger for her age, she was able to put up with junk where most whimpier babies would throw in the towel. So hear this all whimpy babies of the world! Sophie’s coming for you…wait sorry…that makes no sense. Anywho Sophie is doing much, much, much better and, Lord willing, we could possibly be home by the end of the week.

I cannot possibly express how greatful we are for the bazillion prayers that went up on Sophie’s behalf. We were in tears most of the day reading everyone’s comments. Thank you, thank you thank you. God is good! Please continue to pray for her safe recovery

Amazed by Him,
Bart

Ps I am going through serious Sam, Gracie and Charlie withdrawls. Daddy coming home soon kids, and he’s bringing the good times with him!

Mr. Mom…Or How DOES She Do It?!?!?!

Seriously…
Abby leaves the house for a few hours to go get her hair cut and swing by the grocery store…doesn’t sound like a big deal, right???? Well the other side of the coin is that I am now in complete “charge” of the kids…hahahahahahahahaha!!!!!! that’s funny, huh? This blog is only to praise my wife. She does this ALL the time when we’re out on the road. We don’t have family close by, and aside from the folks at our church pitching in from time to time, she is all alone in this.

I can’t make it 4 hours without wanting to pull out my hair and lock them all in their rooms and curl up in the fetal position in the bath tub….frightening imagery, I know. She never complains about it…it is her joy to do. i love my kids, but I have decided there are reasons why men are “the hunter/gatherers”…basically, I’m a horrible homemaker. So here’s to you Abby….the most AMAZING, WONDERFUL, PATIENCE FILLED WOMAN on the earth!!!!!! I love you.

I ain’t even playing when I say we love Christmas! It is truly a family affair. How much do we love Christmas? We have 8 trees in our house. Yep….8.  It awesome sure, but the thought of taking them all down afterwards makes me throw up in my mouth a little. Oh well, until then…Merry Christmas.

Charlie is very serious about his ornament placement.

There really is nothing like the “tough guy” pose while wearing “ho ho ho” pajamas.

christmas-gracie
Notice how all the ornaments are below 3 feet on the tree?

christmas-bart
Christmas makes me CRAZY HAPPY!!!!!!!!

christmas-mom
Who knew when we first “went together” in 7th grade, that we’d be growing old together. Well she’s getting old…not me. I’m still 13.
