Mr. Lovewell Was Here

If you’ve been you to any of The Roadshow shows and stopped by our merch table, you’ve probably seen these cards laying around.  We figure now is an opportune time to let you know why you are seeing these cards and what they are for.  In short the idea is simple.  Do something nice for someone and leave this card behind.  Whether that’s paying for a meal at a restaurant, buying someone groceries, mowing someone’s yard.  You get the idea.

Eventually we will have a place for you to be able to download the cards and print off yourself, but we wanted to get the ball rolling before the record even comes out.  We will also have a place for you to share the event at which maybe you have received a card from someone who has ‘loved you well’.

We’re really looking forward to seeing this thing take off and become a movement across the county with people doing the little things that can truly change people’s lives.  Won’t you join us?

OH I wish I would have known about those cards while I was on my road trip! I would have picked some up. Any way I can get some?

That’s so great! I saw you guys in concert in 2004- and have been a fan of your music ever since. I’ve gotten my sister and mother both hooked! Thank you for all you do and the lyrics that speak to our hearts in the most trying times!

A few months ago, I started buying $5 gift cards at various fast food restaurants. I made small labels on my computer that explain God’s plan of salvation and put them on the cards, then, I give them out to people. I do this because I know that addicts often take the cash we give them and use it to buy more poison for their bodies. I felt God’s leading to give something to the people holding signs at stop lights, but feared that my money might be used for their harm instead of their good. I tried buying them food, but that wasn’t always possible when they were on an exit ramp because I’d have to go all the way back around to get to them. This works great because they can only use it for food and, the stickers don’t peel off so they can’t use the card without seeing the sticker. I have a brother that’s an addict and I know that God loves him as much as the rest of us and I hoped that if he were begging, someone would buy him food to help keep him alive instead of cash, which he’d use to buy more poison. You never know when your $5 is the only meal that keeps someone alive one more day… maybe that’s the day they turn their lives around. My brother died 2 weeks ago because of his alcoholism, but there are still tons of other addicts that God can change if we’re all willing to love them well. We also hand them out to anyone God leads us to like elderly people in the grocery store, teenagers at the movies, etc.

Kathy, that is a fantastic idea about getting food gift cards! I’m going to do that as soon as possible. I love the idea of the Lovewell cards too. I wish I would have known to get some at the Roadshow.

My husband is a Pastor of a small church in Southeastern Kentucky. In his Ministry, he has mentioned so many times how, “If you really want to be blessed–go to McDonalds, or Wendys drive-thru–place your order and pay for your order and tell the representive at the window you want to pay for the next car coming.”
I don’t know how many people have done it-since then, however, I know anytime you give-it leaves you with a wonderful feeling. Another quote I love, “we’re blessed to be a blessing!!”
    To God Be The Glory!!!
    Keep up the good work!!
