Hello to all of the “we check in on the crew blog sometimes because we are sort of interested in the behind the scenes tech gear world of the mm crew” people!! (whew!)
It has been a while since anyone from the MM crew has posted so I thought I would drop in and let you all know we are still alive and we are still here serving behind the scenes. The reason for so little posts?? Possibly the lack of shows has led to very little content for us that might be of interest to you, or it might be because all of the crew are investing time elsewhere when we are off the road.
My newborn son just turned a month old.
Marlon (WOODS!) is planning a wedding.
Joel has kids, one of which is a teenager now.
Ryan is busy designing future shows and also has a daughter.
Danny is trying to sell one of our buses.
Bobby is making the move to get off of the road permenatley by investing time into his audio company.
It seems that we need to hear from the PEOPLE! What do you want to know? What might be of interest to you? There has been a comment from someone on a “reality” series on “The Life Of A Crew Guy.” Stuff like that may be video gold…..or may not. We can talk about gear stuff, techy stuff, family stuff, theological stuff, band facts, etc.
ASK THE CREW AND WE WILL LET YOU KNOW!
Blessings,
wes

June 30th, 2008 at 2:51 pmI miss the picture of ya’ll at the top of the page. The band guys are plastered everywhere. I’m sure I speak for all the Crew Wives when I say ya’ll deserve a little “face time” too.

July 1st, 2008 at 11:23 amI’d like to see some explanation of the gear that is used in a show.

July 1st, 2008 at 11:39 amI would like to know what it takes to get a guitar rig ready for each show. Are there certain venues that are more challenging than others to get set up? Do you guys get to the venues at the same time as the band or do you have to get there ahead of time? Pictures of guitar gear are always awesome!
Thank you!

July 9th, 2008 at 12:03 pmYay! A post on the crew blog. I agree with D, you need to put your own pictures back on the top of the blog! They made me smile even though I’ve never met you guys before in my life.
What I’d like to see:
1. More on you guys, just who you are and what you guys are like! Who needs to be professional all the time? The band guys don’t post all the time about their music… so why should you always post about your “crew” job?
2. Alright, SOME of the time about behind-the-scenes stuff would be coolies. I’ve never really know a lot about what goes on with the crew for these big concert tours, so I think “A Day in the Life of a Crewman” would be a great idea!
3. Dirt on the band.

July 9th, 2008 at 12:25 pmI definitely agree …
1. Input into your life both spiritual and family
2.Set up of a bass rig (hey … I’m a bass player, anything bass is great)
3. Tips, I loved the tip about the backwards guitar amp, it makes so much sense.
Just blog … I love getting a peek into people’s lives

July 23rd, 2008 at 3:47 pmI would like to know when you all gave your lives to the Lord? Were you raised in church or did you find God along life’s way? How exactly did you get the job you have? What is the venue you dislike the most? And why?

July 24th, 2008 at 10:41 amIf you guys could post what it’s like being a christian in the sound industry…the obstacles you have/had overcome and the likes. Also, pictures and a run down of what you guys are running in FOH and Monitor world!! If you guys need another hand for the San Diego show’s load-in/out lemme know too! =P

July 25th, 2008 at 7:54 amBehind the scenes stuff, set up, interesting things about the band that they would not necessarily talk about. What you as a crew need prayer about because the show is not any good without your handy work.

August 1st, 2008 at 12:10 pmI love to geek out on anything production wise, but like the others, I am just interested in hearing about you all, and your daily walk of faith in the ministry of serving our Lord. The chic fila in the back of the van was a great post.
