Anybody out here on the road would tell you that the hardest part of this job is leaving your family at home while you travel. I have a wife (Natalie) and a 3 year old daughter (Ella). My wife made a calendar for Ella to look at. It shows the days I will be away and the days I will be home. The days colored green are days that I’m away. The pink days are days when I am home. Ella wakes up in the morning and asks Natalie if today is a “pink day” or a “green day”. They both make their way to the kitchen and check the calendar to see what color day it is.

Hopefully it’s a Pink Day!

March 31st, 2008 at 6:53 pmYou have a beautiful family.
That was very creative, we do something similar such as how many days till vacation or a special party. I see your birthday was the 3rd so Happy Belated Birthday!
We often hear about the crew members so its nice to put a face to a name.

April 3rd, 2008 at 3:28 pmI wasn’t sure how else to communicate with you so thought this was as appropriate as I could find. I am the aunt of a fantastic nephew and we are from Sulphur Springs, TX. My nephew is a strong Christian but he is struggling to survive as he has stage 4 cancer. He is 25 years old and he and his little wife will celebrate their 1st anniversay April 21. He and his wife Allsion, who is a teacher in Tyler, live in Canton, TX. MercyMe has sustained Clay through lots of cancer treatments these last couple of months and he wears a T-Shirt that says Hold Fast! from your song each time he goes for a chemo treatment. He has another one tomorrow, April 4. In fact, that is our motto as a family though all this. We, as a family, believe in God’s miracle but Clay is a very very sick young man fighting for his life. Is there any way you all could go to his cancer care page at CarePage.com (ClayRogers) and leave him a message. He listens to you as he gets his chemo and your music helps him though his pain. Bless you all for your music and your message.
Love,
Robin Shrode
