  2. The universe has righted itself. I was having withdrawals from no cover tune grab bag! thank you ever so much. And the patriotic bit at the end, has simply made my holiday!

  3. Oh…my…word! I think my ears were starting to bleed. :) Still it’s a great day when I get a fresh helping of Cover Tune Grab Bag. Happy 4th!

  4. While all of you seem to be enjoying yourselves, you, Bart, seem to be having a WAY better time than the rest. Admit it, you’re bribing them to do it, right? Either way, it’s the highlight of my day…Thanks again!!

  5. You guys crack me up. I can’t wait to check the blog each day and see what crazy things you guys are up to. Keep having fun!!!!!

  6. OMG! That was the best version of the song I have ever heard! What a hoot! I needed a good laugh!! Thanks! Can’t wait to hear more!!

  7. Sooo…do they actually let you leave the funny farm to do these things, or do you record them there? ;)

You guys need to invest in a teleprompter — and some tissues for Bart! Allergies, brother? You know, you kind of sounded like Scuttle from “The Little Mermaid.” Don’t strain that amazing voice of yours, okay? And please don’t pursue a career in ventriloquism. It ain’t gonna happen.

By the way, I think you guys missed your calling as voice-overs for the Muppets.

    GOD BLESS YOU, MERCYME!!!

  8. OMG, that was too funny. I kept thinking that there were parts that sounded like Edith Bunker from All in the Family, and I about cracked up when Bart said the same thing at the end. What can I say? Great minds think a like. (he-he)

You guys are great, have a wonderful and safe 4th of July.

  9. I don’t know what I was expecting but … it certainly wasn’t that! HILARIOUS. I am totally reposting this on my blog :) and rack up your “views” at least by 20 more people :).

    that’s a great video!

  10. Just thinking….Christmas Show….A “Cover Tune Grab Bag Medley”….or better yet…live requests from the audience!!! Think about it!!! I’m just sayin’…could be a big hit!!! : ) Happy fourth to you and yours!

  11. Thank you for another great one…I love these.
Makes me laugh. You guys are incredibly talented and I was thinking, what a great job you have. You have been blessed.

    Love, Brody’s Mom

  12. You know, I just think it’s a shame that you all don’t get along or know how to cut loose once in a while.

    :)

    Keep ‘em comin’!
And I think I speak for all SLOBS when I say: ‘Still waiting on Jim and Robby to join in on the fun!!’

  13. Holy Moly, guys!! I just made my kids run down the stairs, cuz they heard me scream and they thought I was hurt. You guys rock!!! God Bless the USA and MercyMe.

  14. oh wow…I’m not quite sure what to say…I think this is the first one that has left me utterly speachless. lol, that was amusing to say the least. I’ve seen this posted all day and I couldn’t watch it at work and only had the comments to read to get me through to this point at which pure amusement has overcome my computer monitor. LOL…awesome guys! I am disappointed though…I think Bart and Mike would’ve looked better in an A’s hat, lol. ;)

  15. Oh my goodness. That was hillarious. By the way, I did hear the Elmo, Mike. Bart, you crack me up getting cracked up. You guys are too funny.
    Thanks for the lift.

  16. Oh.my.goodness!
I didn’t pick up on it first go-round, but after the mention of Edith B. and Elmo – it is totally cracking me up!
Better watch that voice there, Bart. Sounded a little horsey when you talk at the end. After seeing these great little CTGB hits, it’s pretty safe to say: Better keep the ‘day job’.

  17. Ok…. What’s with the snort, Bart??? Missed it the first go round, but sure did catch it the next. Such a talented group of guys!! My 14 year old says you all need to do… Oops I Did It Again… Now that I just might pay $ to see!!!!! LOL! How about when you come to Knoxville you do a Cover Tune Grab Bag???? PLEASE??????

  18. OK, I just retired with over 20 years in the Marine Corps. I think if we could pump out the grab bag songs over a loud speaker in Iraq everone would either come out singing or just give up all together. Keep up the good work. God bless the U.S.A…..and Mercy Me

  19. This is awesome….you guys are so my heros. Ok now for my requests……

“Jessie’s Girl” by Rick Springfield or “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears for Fears or “Don’t You” by Simple Minds the theme to the Breakfast Club.

Thanks guys for your ministry and sacrifice.
    God bless,

    Bob

  20. I have tickets to your show this Sunday in Phoenix and I log onto your website to find out some information about the show, and discover this gem!!!! Wow, you guys are hilarious, I can’t believe these have been going on and I knew nothing about them. Now added as a bookmark, never to be missed again. Is there anyway you would consider performing a song for the Cover Tune Grab Bag at Sunday’s show :-)

  21. That was way too much. Oh my gosh, this was NOT the thing to click on if I ever hoped to fall back to sleep at 6 am this Independence Day. whoo! Thanks for the laugh.

Bless you and have a safe and happy Fourth!

  22. Ok now I have to go to work. How am I going to explain this to my coworkers? Why don’t my eyes stop leaking????

  23. Is this the new out of costume Big Bird and Company show? WOW
Keep having fun !!!! I love it, talent at it’s best

    Stay in His Word

  24. Okay… who comes up with this craziness? And who is in charge of finding a room bigger than a broom closet for the cover tune grab bags? Y’all are hysterical. You are my daily dose of smiles.

May God continue to bless you all.

    ~Lisa

  25. I am new to your group, but the songs I have heard have spoken words that me heart has not been able to express, thank you.
You young men have been given a gift, to write words and set them to music, to bring people into a spirit of praise, and laughter, and some that bring people into a spirit of worship, keep using this God given blessing to His glory and be blessed as you share your blessing with others

  26. I love it, “GySgt (Ret)”!

I think I would have to agree on that one. :)

And, I just want to say ‘Thank You’, for your 20 years of service for our country. And not just because it’s the Fourth of July. We are blessed to have the freedoms we have here 365 days a year, in large part thanks to all of you who serve.

    God bless.

    ~Jessica

  27. I hate that song. But you guys made it funny. Oh and the hat. Yeah. That was sweet. And All In the Family. And Bart sniffing at one point. And…

Well, what else can be done other than
    [applause]

    Good night you goofs.

  28. ooohhh cool i get to be #50 … that was toooo funny ..ya know each time you guys sing these cover tune grab bag songs …the songs stay in my head for a couple of days …thanks i guess for that… but this one had a nice patriotic (sp) spin to it!!… way to funny they just keep getting better…. just got home from a Rays game from St. Pete Fl. 11-2 Rays Happy 4 th to all!!!!!!!!!!!

  29. HEY! 30. loved it once again…still waiting on Footloose or is that too upbeat or fast tempo? (kick off your Sunday shoes!)

anyway, any song seems to work and crack us all up!

    keep doing the ctgb!

  31. My brother and I had a long discussion tonight on some songs ya’ll should cover. Here’s a list in order of preference:

    1. George Michael’s “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go” or “Faith”
    2. “Oklahoma” (yes, from the musical)
    3. A theme song medley from “Full House”, “Step-by-step”, and “Family Matters”
    4. The Carpenter’s “Rainy Days and Monday’s”
    5. Barbra Streisand’s “People”

    LOL.

  32. How can we just not LOVE you guys?? You live life and you live it real…….GOOD!! You pulled some smiles and giggles outa me and I’m soooo glad to be blessed with your tunes. Keep up the fun.

  33. There’s something horribly wrong!!! My wife and I went to your concert last night at the Celebrity Theater in Phoenix – and we are convinced that the talent we experienced during your performance – can NOT be the same as what I just witnessed on this cover song! You guys are a scream – keep the little hat, Bart.

For your next cover – which will take considerable editing effort – how about ZZ Top’s TUSH? You guys are talented enough to replace “tush” with something more spiritual, eh?

  34. Sweet cream!!! That was hilarious!! We saw you at the concert in Phoenix last night and you guys ROCK!! Ok, now I have a request. I have a great one! How about a little Golden Earing… Twilight Zone! I always feel like, sombody’s watchin’ meeee… And I have no privacy!! Haha! Oh that could be good….

  35. Who knew you guys had such a range of vocal skills and musical abilities. You guys can not only bring us closer to God in worship but make us laugh hysterically. I watched this with my daughters and we laughed so hard we had tears coming down our faces.

Truly you have to incorporate these into your live show. Laughter is a great healer as well as your awesome praise and worship music.

    Rock On!

  36. that was the funniest thing i have ever heard in my life. nice job. i loved your guys concert in kansas city at worlds of fun. my sister really liked the guy that put the hat on at the end of the video she thought he was hilarious!!!!!!!! :D

  37. ROFL! I so needed a good laugh today!!! Do you take request? Would love to see you guys do Girls Just Wanna Have Fun! Praise God! A merry heart doeth good !!!

  38. Tina~ You’re in luck MM already did Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. You should be able to find it on this site, but if not, go to youtube and look it up. It was awesome…Nathan was hilarious!

  39. AND YET AGAIN THANK YOU FOR THE FABULOUS LAUGH OPPORTUNITY. IT IS CLEAR YOU HAD AS MUCH FUN MAKING IT AS I HAD WATCHING IT. I REMEMBER MAKING SANDWICHES FOR PARTICIPANTS ON A ROPES COURSE WHILE JOINING IN FOR A ROUSING CHORUS OF BILLY OCEAN’S CARIBBEAN QUEEN. DO I HEAR A REQUEST FOR THAT ? YES INDEED!!!!!!!!!

  40. *uncontrollable laughter*
Who unlocked the loony bin??!!?? :D
Hahaha you guys are awesome!! Keep the CTGB coming!! Why don’t you do one to “Yankee Doodle” or something patriotic?

    ~catfreak70
    P.S. Ya’ll are NOT ventriloquists!:);}

  41. I loved it! You are an inspiration! I learned of this website from my worship pastor Robbie Hurd! I was just wondering do you think you could do “Walk the dinosaur” it was my favorite song from the 80’s. Thank you for what you do! God Bless

  42. Nate ~ I can’t believe you don’t know that song, except for the one part… ok, I’ll admit I don’t know the song either. Great job guys! God Bless!
