So I haven’t posted a blog in awhile. I have been really busy. But I got this email from a friend in my small group today. Im not one to be overly spiritual with these, but I thought it was a good word and encouragement. Hope all you bloggers do too.

J. C. Philpot, “Strength Made Perfect in Weakness”

My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is
made perfect in your weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9

Not your strength,
not your wisdom,
not your prayers,
not your experience;
but “My grace”—My free, My matchless grace,
independent of all works and efforts, independent of
everything in the creature—flowing wholly and solely,
fully and freely, out of the bosom of Jesus to . . .
the needy,
the guilty,
the destitute,
the undone.

You who are tried in worldly circumstances,
who have to endure the hard lot of poverty
—”My grace is sufficient for you.”

You who are tempted, day by day, to say
or do that which conscience testifies against
—”My grace is sufficient for you.”

You who are harassed with family troubles
and afflictions, and are often drawn aside into
peevishness and fretfulness—”My grace is
sufficient for you.”

Our weakness, helplessness, and inability
are the very things which draw forth the power,
the strength, and the grace of Jesus!

Believer, your case is never beyond the reach
of the words—”My grace is sufficient for you!”

The free, the matchless, sovereign grace of God,
is sufficient for all His people—in whatever state,
or stage, or trouble, or difficulty they may be in!

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is
made perfect in your weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9

superbowl-42-logo.jpgUsually about this day every year, I have a few friends over to eat food and watch the game. More importantly to watch the commercials. Well since the invention of a thing called “TIVO”, my sports watching has changed. I like to start watching whatever sporting event it is about an hour past when it starts. This way I am able to watch the game, fast forward through the commercials and still catch up to real time around the time the game is actually finished. It cuts my watching time in half and I dont risk someone telling me the outcome before I get there. Here in lies my dilemma.

1. Do I Tivo the game so that I can cut my watching in half, but then miss the greatness of the commercials?

2. Do I Tivo the game and fast forward through the game to get to the commercials, which also cuts the watching time in half? (I really dont care about the teams playing)

3. I watch it real time and forget about the Tivo?

Anyway you look at it, I think the Super Bowl Wins. The TIVO, as great as it is, has no solutions to the biggest sporting event of the year.

My prediction…..
Giants 17 - Patriots 35

too-big.jpg

So what happens when you buy your son a Lightning McQueen tent for his Birthday?

He asks you to play in it with him.

Unfortunately, he doesnt realize that Im to big to play in it. But being the good father that I am, I did my best to climb through the tent. But for some reason for which I dont understand, I just cant fit. I guess its part of life. You get older, you get bigger and you cant play in a tent anymore. So my lessoned learned on this day is to never buy toys that require you to get down on all fours and make a fool of yourself. And if you do, make sure the whole is big enough for a grown man to get through.

Happy Birthday Levi!

20061220.jpgSo here is my question….

How long does it take for you to put away your christmas decorations? I find that when it comes to taking them down Im very lazy. Im great putting things up after Thanksgiving. It gets me in the holiday spirit. But taking it down (particularly the outside lights on the house) Im horrible at. I’ve even been known to receive a notice from my home owners association about it. What, is waiting until March bad?

Well, I got home on monday with great intentions of getting it done, but so far… IM LAZY. I have until thursday to get to it before I head back on the road, but knowing me, it wont get it done. I was just curious if any of you fellow bloggers out there struggle with the same thing. I like to call it “post christmas decorating laziness” or PCDL for short. Maybe we should start a PCDL anonymous for all of those out there like me. If Im the only one, then please pray for me.

Wishing it was still Christmas…..

bus_scooters.jpg

This is Robby. This is also my first BLOG ever! I just wanted to let everyone in on a few of the inner workings of a big tour. Most people assume its the full of fun times for all. Dont get me wrong, it can be a blast, but most of the time you are looking for something to do all day. For instance…. Today I woke up about 10 am. I went into the venue and looked around. I ate a muffin in catering. I helped our crew roll a few cases into the dressing rooms. I even unloaded our scooters.

So far, the most exciting thing that has happened is us getting lost on those scooters trying to find a movie theater. After we finally got there, the power was out. So no movies today. The best way we beat the “tour boredom” is to go to Walmart. We did just that. Bought a couple things for the bus and a couple movies. Now we are back at the venue and are counting down the minutes until Dinner. We look forward to dinner because that tells us that our day is finally about to start. Once the doors are open for the show, all boredom goes away. Then we start all over again tomorrow.

Fun times… Great oldies….
