I was par-oozing the interweb today and came across something we did a couple of years ago. Back when MySpace was a good wholesome place where predators could run free…sarcasm folks…I found a batch of songs we wrote for every 1000 myspace friends we got. Comedy at it’s finest. Enjoy.

11,000 Friends

12,000 Friends

Sam officially thinks he is a superstar because his mug is on a magazine.

He keeps asking me if he can take it to school and show all of his friends. I have always been an advocate of the child star really. Mainly because most former child stars have gone on to live very balanced and normal lives. Besides most of them serving a bit of jail time, it’s gone quite well I think.

All kidding aside, the article was a lot of fun. Due to the fact I got to talk about Sam and not how I wrote “Imagine.”

This morning I was getting dressed and just randomly grabbed a t-shirt out of my closet to put on.  It is an Old Navy tee that says “Cinco de Mayo” on it. Get it? Today is May 5th…cinco de mayo! Can you believe that? I can’t. I really can’t. I wonder if I can get my “Tuesday May 6th” shirt back from the dry- cleaners by tomorrow? That would be insane. Oh well…happy cinco de mayo.

Sorry the film quality is bad, but this is a security guard at one of our shows who came into our dressing room and started singing for us. No warning, just started singing. Awesome…simply awesome.

While on tour last year, the great city of Roanoke, Virginia declared October 11th, MercyMe day. We were so excited thinking that every October 11th would be MercyMe day, only to realize that MercyMe day was just on October 11th of the year 2007.

They gave us the official certificate during the concert around 9:00 PM. Our set finished an hour and a half later at around 10:30PM. In other words, by the time we knew we were given our own “day” we had about an hour and a half ’til midnight to enjoy it. I think it is safe to say it was the greatest hour and a half of our lives.
