So we went to the Rangers game the other night and took some video footage along the way. Here is a quick video that my wife put together that showcases how funny my son Levi gets when he watches baseball. Enjoy.

So a lot of people wonder what takes place with our families when we are out of town working.  Where here is a taste.  My 2 1/2 year old boy, Levi, likes to just kick back, relax in the pool with a tall glass of apple juice.  If the occasion calls for it, he may even have some goldfish crackers or grapes.  Life is good in the summertime when Dad is away working hard for the family.

So when my sister asked if we would mind watching her kids for a few days while her and Nathan left on a trip, we said “No Problem”. I mean, they are older than Levi and can pretty much take care of themselves. It should be easy right? Well I now have a new respect for parents of more than one child. The kids are great and well behaved, I’m just not used to the energy of 3 kids at the same time. Levi (my son) is full tilt on his own when he is awake, but adding two more just like him to the mix is quite more than I’m used to. We’ve had a great time don’t get me wrong, I’m just a bit more on the tired side then I thought I would be. I have two more days left so wish me luck.

So to all of you parents out there with 2 or more kids….. I salute you. (band guys and my sister included)

Well, if there were two things in my life that I really wanted when I grew up, got married and owned my first house, it was a nice new Grill and a new Riding Lawn Mower. Well, when I did get my first house, the yard was so small I wouldn’t have been able to even turn a riding lawn mower around in it. But I did go by my first big gas grill. $119 at HOME DEPOT. It wasn’t extravagant, but it was gas or charcoal. Well now after 5 years, I have a new house with a bigger yard and riding lawn mower, but my grill has pooped out.

My question to all of you is…. Do I scrap the grill and all the memories attached to it or do I try and fix it? I think I can buy a replacement burner for like $15, but then it might not fit and I might not be smart enough to figure out how to do it. If I decide to buy a new one I know what I want. Its the new Char-Broil Red. Wow, its like the corvette of Grills. It can use propane or convert to natural gas. And to top it all off its Red. Would match the way my wife decorates nicely.

So please weigh in with your thoughts, comments, ideas or otherwise snide remarks and let me know what your thinking. Thanks… and have nice Spring day.

So people always want to know what being at GMA week is like. Well this a little taste of how crowded it gets. I get a touch claustrophobic in big crowds. So if it looks like I’m hiding in the corner its because I am. I don’t mind talking to people, I just don’t like feeling trapped in the middle of a lot of people. So this blog goes out to all of you that like to run and find an empty corner during a big family reunion or find yourself in the mall at Christmas time. Staying strong at GMA….Robby

So as most of you know, I am getting my feet wet at being a band manager and I’m still learning all the ins and outs of this occupation. The first band that was brave enough to take me on as their manager is a band named Addison Road. Their a new band from here in Dallas. Their first album just came out 2 weeks ago and is doing really well.

Their first song “All That Matters” went to #1 on the CHR charts last week also. So needless to say, they are off to a good start. Although, as amazing as these things are for a new band, none of them am I able to take credit for. Most of the things that have happened up until now has been a result of their own hard work and perseverance. Sure, I have made the phone calls, sent emails and gave advise over this last 10 months, but that is what I’m supposed to do. The real job of a manager kicks now, at this point.

Am I able to take the momentum that has been started by the band and the record label and build on it. That is the part of my new venture that remains to be seen. Hopefully I have found a new area that I am good in and something that I can do when one day I am too old to travel the country playing drums for MercyMe. Lets pray that I’m am able to take all the things that I have learned and gained from MM and impart them into our next generation of young artists. If you get a chance, check out Addison Road.

I wouldn’t be a good manager if I didn’t say that!

retro-christmas-lights1.jpgSo as some of you read, I get really lazy when it comes to taking down the Christmas lights off of my house. Im good about doing it on the inside, but the outside shows how lazy I really am.

So a mere 54 days after Christmas, I finally took down the Christmas lights off of the house. And my neighborhood rejoiced. I think the amazing thing in this whole process is counting up the many excuses that I can come up with that keep me from doing, what when its all said and done, took 45 min to complete.

Some of the excuses Im best known for include… “the wind is blowing too hard from the North today”. “Its too cold.” “I need a new ladder first.” or my personal favorite…. “I need to spend time with my family today.” When all else fails, you can really make yourself feel good by spending time with your family and put off work at the same time. So there you have it…this concludes the saga of the Shaffer house Christmas celebration. What started the day after thanksgiving, finally came to a close the third week of Feb.

Happy Holidays.

Hey fellow Bloggers…. its Robby here.

I wanted to let you guys know about a great band named Addison Road. They are a band out of Dallas that has signed with INO Records, which is the label we are on. The self titled record hits the shelves on March 18th.The reason Im bringing this up is because they have been given the privilege of being the current iTunes Discovery Download of the week. All you have to do is click on the link here for a free download of their first single “All that Matters”. Its currently #10 on the CHR charts.

I have been working with band for over a year and now co-manage them with our manager Scott Brickell. I really believe in them and think they are going to do great things. Thanks for you time and hope you like the song….
