2Ohio, you guys were awesome. It was great to have the Jars Of Clay guys back tonight and get back into the swing of things. We were in Texas last night so we flew in late today and got right to it. You guys were great tonight. We wish we could have kept playing. We’ve been here before and we always look forward to coming back to Dayton.
Thanks for making it great night.
Madison, WI
2Wisconsin, you have become one of our favorite places to play. Tonight’s crowd, just like last night’s blew us away. Thanks so much for coming out tonight and spending some time with us. We still can’t believe how much snow is outside, but we’re glad you guys made the trip out.
Everyone enjoy the Super Bowl tomorrow. We’re headed home for a few days and we’ll kick this thing back off next week.
Green Bay, WI
5Green Bay, we know how the Packers must feel walking onto the field across the street at the field, because you guys made us feel right at home. You were easily one of the best crowds we’ve had so far on this tour. You sang amazingly and we had a great time worshipping with you.
Earlier today we drove around a little and were able to check out the area. What a cool town you guys have. Thanks for making us feel so welcome. We’ll see you again soon.
Sioux City, IA
1We left Dallas yesterday at 3 in the afternoon and creeped along the icy highway for the next 6 or 7 hours. Once we made it to Oklahoma City the roads cleared up and it was smooth sailing to Sioux City. Tonight was a great show despite Bart spraining his ankle pretty bad before the show.
Thanks Sioux City for coming out to The Roadshow. Green Bay, we’ll see you tomorrow.
Rock & Worship Roadshow Presents Battle of the Bands Contest
3First Winning Band Takes the Stage in Huntsville, AL
Nashville, TN…January 27, 2011…This year the Rock & Worship Roadshow, which launches this Friday in Cape Girardeau, MO, is giving fans a chance to be a part of the show by presenting a Battle of the Bands contest in select tour markets.
To compete in The Battle of the Bands contest, listeners submit their music and youtube videos to their local radio station and the station narrows down contestants to a final three. The music from the top three finalists is passed along to the Roadshow artists who pick the winning act to perform a two-song set, 45 minutes prior to the beginning of the Rock & Worship Roadshow in the listeners’ city.
The first set of finalists were recently chosen and hail from Tennessee, Texas and Pennsylvania. A Nashville-based band was ultimately announced as the winner, and will take the stage next weekend in Huntsville, AL.
“The Battle of the Bands contest is a great opportunity for our listeners and for us to learn about the talent in our audience,” says Kris Spain from 88.1 Way-FM in Huntsville. “We are glad to help discover and encourage up-and-coming talent. The station received over 30 entries from local bands and those in other states. Most bands dream of opening for a concert like this, and we are glad to offer them the chance!”
The all-star cast on the 3rd Annual Rock & Worship Roadshow includes MercyMe, Jars of Clay, Thousand Foot Krutch, Matt Maher and The Afters, with hip-hop artist LeCrae joining the lineup starting February 24. The Compassion International sponsored event will entertain audiences in major cities such as Chicago, Colorado Springs and Phoenix and more while on the 25-city tour.

The Rock & Worship Roadshow
5We couldn’t be more excited about this year’s Roadshow. The lineup this year promises to be an amazing night and we’re less than a month away. Now, if you haven’t noticed we’ve got a little RSVP competition going on over at TheRockAndWorshipRoadshow.com. We’re not sure what the prize is yet, but we’re keeping an eye out for the city with the most people who have RSVP’d. So head over there and do that now.
Also, since this is a $10 at the door event, we’ve come up with a couple different ways to beat the crowd and get in early and a couple bonuses thrown in on top.
First you can purchase a “Follow Me To The Roadshow” t-shirt and the day of the show you will be moved to the front of the line.
Second we’ve got a couple different VIP options for you. Both include early access, preferred seating, souvenirs and one includes a special Meet & Greet opportunity. Lot’s to choose from so head over to TheRockAndWorshipRoadshow.com and check it out.
Thankful
8We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Now as we move into thinking about the Christmas season we wanted to put a place on here where we could continue the ‘Thankfulness’ and allow you to tell us what you’re thankful for here. We are thankful for you guys and we love the community that has gathered here. Your turn.
