I’m posting this on every site that I follow you guys at hoping you’ll see it!

praying for you! Sending you all hugs (if I could really give them to you right now, I would). These things give you a new perspective. There’s a reason you guys were involved in this accident. It’s so scary, and my heart is so heart broken for the victims, and yet soooo relieved that you guys are ok.
It was interesting….I was at Chic-Fil-A this morning (which is 45 min from my house) and no one was in there but me and the employees…it was very quiet and somber…then all of a sudden “Finally Home” came on. I’m usually pretty excited when I hear Christian music playing at businesses, but something seemed different, like something pressing, something seemed wrong in the atmosphere. Then as soon as I got home, I read the events. I don’t think there’s a coincidence in that. I feel like God was trying to tell me something’s wrong and to pray.

Hold Fast, my friends! Hold fast…praying for you, love you, and remember “Emmanuel, God with Us”…he IS with YOU now and always!

Lord-we lift up the families of those who did not survive and we ask that you be obviously present with a comfort and strength that can only come from you Lord. We do not know where they are with you Lord, but we ask that if they do know you that you be their sufficiency and that they would know that you are with them. Lord if they do not please allow them to be comforted by those you bring around them and that you would be evident in the comfort. Lord be with the driver as she deals with each emotion, may she run to you for strength shelter and healing as we know in you we find all that we need. Lord thank you for fulfilling the promises you give us of comfort strength shelter healing and peace regardless of our circumstance. AMEN

I am so sorry that this tragedy has happened – for all involved. I am praying for the band, those who passed away, the injured, and the bus driver who I am sure is affected for life. I am eternally grateful the band is unharmed. How much more of a wake call do we need to bring the lost to life eternal in Christ Jesus! Our time on the Earth is short, and we don’t know when He’ll call us home. Keep up your ministry, guys, and be safe on your travels.

I have been praying for you folks and the families of those involved, since I learned of this earlier on the 8th. I asked friends on Facebook to pray for all of you as well. Leave this in the hands of the Lord. Let the Lord continue to speak through your music and bless people as you continue to tour and in the many years to come. And trust that the Lord will bring some good out of this tragedy. The Lord will! The Lord always does. (((((((((((MERCYME)))))))))))) I have not met you folks yet. I hope someday that I will. I saw you in Portland, Oregon.

I am so very sorry to hear about this horrible tragedy. My heartfelt prayers go out on behalf of the band, the bus driver, the car driver, the passengers, their families, the witnesses and the responding EMS.

Please be let me assure you that in this situation, ESPECIALLY in this very sad & difficult situation: it didn’t catch God of guard. Jesus wasn’t falling asleep. Rather, He was right there with each one of you (both in the bus and in the car) as He continues to be now. He weeps with you as He wraps His arms around you and walks beside you in your sadness and confusion. If/ when a time comes in this journey when you don’t think you can take another step, He will even be there to lovingly carry you through. All you need to do is ask.

It won’t be an easy road, but clinging to Jesus, being bathed in His mercy and love and (in time, once He has tended to your ‘scars’) sharing Him with others in the middle of their “difficult road” with the mercy and love He Reigned upon you — well that’s why we are here.

Please know we’ll be praying for you,

Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.) We have an awesome God that is with you and that family and that last loved one in critical condition, Good will come out of all of this. And we will be able to rejoice again but now is the time of weeping with those that weep. May God Comfort and Bless all of those involved.

I am so sorry this has happened to you guys, not to take away any sorrow for the other families, but I have always had a heart for people in your position. We were at St. Louis Six Flags on Friday and when I saw y’all were going to be there the NEXT day I was soooo bummed. When we left St. Louis yesterday morn, my husband saw the “Postponed” sign. I wondered all day what had happened. I will keep everyone involved in my prayers.

To add to my post above about hearing “Finally Home” at Chic-Fil-A and how something didn’t seem right, like something was wrong…then finding out when I got home about the accident. A few min after I wrote that post, I turned on K-LOVE online (which I never do, just listen in the car) and I was praying and trying to unweight the burden in my heart when the very next song after I turn it on is “Finally Home”. I seriously started crying. I don’t find coincidence in anything and I know that God working very strongly in this whole tragedy….there was a reason for MM to be involved, and amongst my sadness and yet thankfulness, I’m anxious to see how this going to end up glorifying God…I’m confident in his promises to us all.

I pray for the families involved, that they have a strong relationship with God. I know it is hard when our loved ones are called home to soon. Please know that they are in the arms of God. God promised: Death is not the end, but the beginning of eternal life. PSALM 49:15; JOHN 11:25
My the Grace of God fall on you, wrap his loving arms around your sorrows, and heal your broken heart.
Even when I walk through the dark valley of death, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me…PSALM 23:4

I will hold you in all my Prayers.

I’m a friend of Kara’s (crash surviver) mother. She asked me to thank all of you that are praying . She is so appreciative. She says that she knows when people are praying, she feels a peace come over her. She is so sad about losing her grand daughter, Alana. Life has been quite cruel to her lately and Alana was the one good thing going on. She feels that it is a true miracle that Kara survived the accident. She ask that you continue to pray for Kara and her doctors. Kara had a scan yesterday and they found shearing on her brain and she ask that you pray specifically for that.
You all are so kind. I get misty just reading all the prayers coming through. May God bless you and keep you all

Please keep letting us know how we can pray for the family, and let them know that we care and love them too. Had the family heard of MercyMe? When the family is ready, I encourage you guys to go on youtube and look up MercyMe’s “Bring the Rain”, and find one that has Bart’s speech before the song. “Hold Fast” is another one that is one that would really speak to them as well.

  • Rosalee Harvey

Hey guys. I am the step-sis of Kara Klinker. She is the sweetest girl and has a really soft heart. She I’ve been told she “drives like a grandma” and we can’t figure out why she made the abrupt left turn.
She is still in ICU right now and is currently in a comma which indicates that her brain needs to repair any damage that may have taken place. Although she is being more responsive, she has severed tissue from her brain and skull. Pray specifically for this and that there will not be any clotting of blood.
I am staying strong in faith that God will sustain her and give her full recovery for his glory because it is his will for life. Also, pray that God will shape the hearts of each particular family member bringing to view the reality of eternity and Himself for those who do not know Him. Thanks so much!

  • scott

happy that you are all uninjured,..please,please,people,pray for mercy me’s bus driver,..most folks dont understand the level of responsibility involved in driving on of these coaches, these bands lives are in the hands of the man (or woman) in the front of the bus, from the looks of the picture, this driver took a direct hit, that says a lot for him, instinct would have the average driver to swerve to miss a direct head-on hit,had he swerved to avoid this, he could have thrown someone from a bunk, or thrown somebody else on the floor, turned the bus on its side,God only knows what else, granted, God will take the glory in the outcome of this terrible situation, but also thank God that this driver, that was entrusted with the lives of His servants,…did the right thing to protect his passengers…i drive an entertainer coach,..and EVERY time i sit behind the wheel,..i ask God to protect us through the ride, and i thank Him for watching out for us,(driver,..if you read this, always remember,we see things in every mile that we drive,we hope it never happens to us,…your bus is on its wheels, your people are safe,…kudos, you did your job)

  • Michael Isaacks

I am lifting you, the band, your driver, the other driver and the family up to the Father. Stay in His loving, comforting arms during this time of tragedy and questioning. Read David’s psalms as he cried out to the Lord in times like this. I love you as Jesus does.

  • Julie

I was at a concert you did in May in Maine. You spoke of how profound the lyrics of “Bring the Rain” are in speaking of the past, I couldn’t help but be reminded of those words when I heard this news. My prayers go out to all of those involved, may you only leaning harder on Him through the rain.

  • marie walters wulfing

We need to be more prayerful for all you great musicians who make such a sacrifice to share God’s message from town to town. You are the unsung evangelists! We have done missionary work in Russia and US inner cities, but now that my daughters do music (under Provident Label right now), I truely see that the ememy ravages against musicians.
Forgive us, the people, for glamorizing what you do, and not praying enough for all the battles we do not see.
May God protect you! You are heavy on my heart! We live in Nashville area, if you ever need prayer, we are here!

  • Joy

I am so sorry to hear of the accident. After having read some of the other posts I’m praising the LORD for the family of God. My prayers are joining those of so many others. Grace, peace and comfort to each one involved.

  • angel

you have helped us for so long.we can only hope that our prayers can bring you comfort.

  • Bobette Duncan

I am heart broken for the families involved, the lives that were lost, and the lives this will touch. Romans 8:28 comes to mind first. May you see the fruit from this tragedy as the tears dry from your eyes. I read that the ones on the bus were uninjured. I disagree. How can you be involved in something so disturbing and not be injured emotionally? Praying for healing with everyone who is dealing with this loss. Bathe yourself in God’s presence and allow the healing to continue.
On my knees for your ministry.
    In Christ,

  • Bob

    Gracious God,

We love You so much and thank You for YourLove and Mercy. Lord I come before You first asking that You would make Your Love and Presence known to the families of those killed in the car as well as the driver who is in the hospital. I ask a special prayer for her to keep her warm and that Your healing hand would touch her. Not healing just for physical strength but emotional strength.

I thank You Lord that the guys and their driver were not injured seriously and ask that You would take any grief or guilt from their hearts and use them to all to minister to the families and injured from the car. That you would give them strength and lift their heavy hearts.

We love You Jesus and it is by Your Name we ask these things,

Guys: I just had to find your website today after what I heard this morning on Spirit105.3 (I’m from Seattle). I’m so sorry that you guys and those teens have had to go through this; I’m hoping you’re not feeling guilt, although being a fellow human, I know I would probably be in your situation. Try to allow God’s healing balm to soothe your hearts and minds.

I will be praying for you and the families involved. God grant you, and them, peace.

    Psalm 9:9
The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.

    Psalm 18:2
The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the hornof my salvation, my stronghold.

    Psalm 22:24
For he has not despised or disdainedthe suffering of the afflicted one;he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help.

I’ll admit. When I pulled into the 6 Flags parking line on Saturday and saw the “postponed” sign, I was upset. I hadn’t heard anything about the reason, so my mind was only on myself and what I had “lost.” As soon as I heard the news about the accident, I started trying to access the MercyMe site from my cell phone. When I saw (via Facebook) the details of the tragedy, I realized that what I had lost was nothing compared to those involved. I am still praying for those who lost loved ones, for young Kara and her injuries, and for the band as well. We need to definitely lift Bart and the guys to the Lord in prayer tonight as they return to the stage in Wisconsin.

  • Sharon

I am heartbroken at this news. My prayers go out to the families of the victims. I lift you all up as well. You are loved and are being held up by many prayers. May the angels of comfort be with you all.

My prayers are with your band and with all the families involved, I pray that the bus driver have a peace and a comfort, I know that it’s hard to feel that at this moment. We praise Jesus in the hard times, in the valley and on the mountain. Jesus please wrap your loving arms around everyone involved and let them feel your love, as well as ours. God Bless Mercy Me for your ministry and may we give God the glory always.

    God Bless,

Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you with sadness and ask for your holy presense to be poured out and cover each mother, father, sibling, all family members and friends who have been touched by this horrific accident. Father, your word says “Not one shall be lost” and we stand on your word that you have baby Alana and Kara’s friends with you. Jesus, I pray and ask for complete healing in Kara’s brain, that there is no shearing on her brain or any other difficulty that will prevent Kara from worshipping you Lord. I ask in Jesus name, Father, that while Kara is in this quiet state and stillness that she hear from you, Father, that you speak directly to her and show her specifically what her purpose here on earth is for and that she know she is your child filled with your love and she is the perfect image you designed her to be. Father let her be your light that shines for others to see in times like this and I ask in Jesus name, for blessings poured out on her mother and family and that the endurance and determination needed to stand firm comes from Jesus and I bind and curse in Jesus name any spirit of cruelty and darkness be gone. There is no power greater than your light Lord and we thank you for this true miracle of Kara still being with us here and know it is your way to bring all things together and manifest the goodness of who you are to each and everyone of us. I thank you Lord for this blessing. Lord I ask in Jesus name that you comfort all MercyMe members Father that they may continue to worship you and their strong dedication and obedience to your word be the encouragement and hope they need today in asking you, their Father, what is it Lord, what do we do now. Lord, take their talent you put inside them and prosper them even more in singing praise hymns to you. Let this tragedy be used for bringing more into your kingdom through your love of music, voice, and the instrument. Father, we love you and praise you. There is no one like you and thank you for saving me from hours of darkness. Thank you for answering my prayers, downloading all your books, amazingly creating and moving me in the direction you know that serves you, only you. Thank you Daddy, for singing that love song in my ear and for teaching me that nothing is earned because you sent your one and only son, Jesus, to die for me so that I may live in your grace and mercy here on earth. He paid the price for each one of us. Father, thank you and let me be your light today and everyday for others to see Hope. In Jesus name, Amen I praise you, God.

God’s blessings and healing to all involved in the bus accident. I was at your concert in Ft. Wayne, IN the night before the accident and really enjoyed it. I was saddened at the news of the accident and the deaths in the car. I started praying right away that healing for spiritual, emotional, physical, and mental takes place for all involved. Today, Monday, I heard on the radio about the angel that was captured in the photo of the accident. I believe I see another angel above the lights on the right side that looks like a side profile and it’s swooping up what looks like a baby’s face in the middle of the bus. This may give comfort in God’s love for the unborn and taking them home. God bless and protect all of you and your families. Debbie Martin – Fort Wayne, IN

I am so very sorry to hear about this tragedy and praying to our Father to reveal Himself in the misdst of this incredible pain and suffering! I envision countless lives touched and turned toward God through this moment! Our suffering is so little compared to the plans of God. I pray that we become children of His who are willing to embrace the entirety of His love and not just what our human minds deem loveable. I pray that each and every family member and friend of those who lost their lives will become so acquainted with their Father that they will touch thousands of lives for His kingdom through this painful journey. And, I pray that God’s might army of men and women will continue to stand against any evil intended in this for you all in the band and your loved ones. This tragedy will elevate you all to the next deeper level with your Father and his blessings will pour out from His innermost heart…
    We can only imagine…

We love you so much as you continue to magnify our Father and manifest His love for us through you!
    Romans 5:3-5

This was my nephew and his girlfriend that was killed in this accident. His little brothers and sisters are devastated and I need not tell you how his mother is doing. That was her oldest son. Continue to pray. I know that all involved are heartbroken. But God is near and if anybody knows this, it is this wonderful group.

Howdy Guys, It’s a great pleasure & honor meeting you guys,, Your all in my prayers & Kara, and all that was involved, I wish I could tell you all what I feel when I hear your music, and feel in your words, but tring to explain this feeling in ones life that you guys projects out to others you meet each day isn’t that easy, but I will try, what I see and felt when I hear you guys, I see in your lives you all have a kind heart, it shows in your faces, & in you music, It’s like a fountain of love and kindness making everyone feel loved which brings out his glory to others, your message of love is indeed a gift from God and you cast the thought of love into the hearts of others you meet each day, letting no one ever come to you with out leaving them better, happier, and inspired. you all have the living expression of God’s kindness & love in your messages in what we all try to be like, for this kindness shows in your lives, with kindness in your smiles, and kindness in your words, I know your words can be short and easy to speak, the love you show, their echoes are truly endless, only a life lived for Jesus is worth living, which I see you do every day with your love for others, for every time you tell someone of Jesus’s great love, it is a gift to that person, and it’s a beautiful thing when given with all your heart, for your words & music can warm the heart of others & shine even in the night, and what sunshine is to flowers, MM,your words are to others you meet in life, your music gives happiness and glory to Jesus, and happiness adds and multiplies as we divide it with others,I am sure if you sit down at set of sun and look back upon your day, and see the hearts that you have touched, that one word that eased the hearts of them who heard that felt like sunshine where it went. then I know guys you can count that day well spent, those little words of kindness and love no matter how small is never wasted,, your music is rest to the weary, daylight to the discourage, sunshine to the sad, and an antidote for the troubled, MM there are hundreds of languages in the world, but your music speaks them all,, So I pray that throughout your journey there be joy in every hour of your day, happiness in your lives and laughter in your voice, contentment that reaches down to the very depth of your soul, Peace in your mind and love in your heart, May each step, song, & turn in your life become precious memories of golden, this is my prayer for all the ones that was involved,,, may God cuddle you all in His love & bring you peace through this,, Jesse,,

Lord, We pray for the family in their time of loss. The pain of death is shocking and overwhelming at times. I’m reminded of the story of Lazarus in the book of John. Last Thursday, one of my fellow teachers died suddenly. Her funeral will be held on this Thursday. The intensity of the pain reminds how much we all long to be home. I pray for each of you that you will stay strong and be reminded that He understands everything that each of you are feeling right now. We love each of you and pray for the healing to continue to do the work that Christ has manifested through each of you.
    John 3:16

  • Dee Heron

My heart broke when my sister told me the news. I was blessed to be at your concert on the beach in Camp Pendleton a couple of weeks ago. I am also from Fort Wayne, IN. I was so touched that you would put on a free show for us and you have been in my thoughts ever since. You touched so many people here in California that day by your generocity and your words of understanding. I pray that YOU will find understanding in all of this. I pray that the families will find comfort and understanding in all of this. I pray the light of the Lord will shine through the believers involved and those who do not know the Lord will begin to do so through this.

I am glad you guys are all physically all right but I know with compassionate hearts comes deep heartache when things like this happen. Oh Lord God, we cry out to You for these families.

This young man’s little brothers and sisters are crushed his mamma is just devastated at the loss of her first born. As is the family of his girl friend. Lord his Aunt Susan has lost her nephew. As an aunt, I can’t even imagine her pain.

Lord, Miss Doris and her family were driving home from the hospital after just saying: Goodbye to their 25 year old son whom You took home an hour before, as a result of a car accident. While we praise & thank you that you protected them by having them be right behind the bus, Father they too are suffering terribaly not only with Aaron’s loss but with the trauma involved in being a witness to this horrible loss especially knowing how the parents feel, etc..

One of Your many names is:’Jehovah-Rafa’ the God who heals. Lord, please, Kara needs Your healing touch and we cry out to You for that as we also cry out for her mother and for her sis Rosalee. Thank you for working in and through her mom’s friend Janet to minister to her at this difficult time.

Please Father, reach out to each of them mentioned and not, for you know them all You even know every hair on their head and have them numbered you know them so well, and please wrap Your arms around them in a clear unmistakeable way as You carry them through this, so they can feel, see and know Your absolute love for them ESPECIALLY through this gut wrenching time.

I pray this is in Jesus’ name , Thank you

  • John Waudby

OMG!! I heard on KLove today about what happened. I have been praying ever since. God Bless each of you and many more prayers to the familes of those injured and killed. Way too sad to even comprehend.

  • Sandi~MMslob

Praying for you guys tonight as you go back out on stage for the first time. I know it’s going to be difficult, but I pray for God’s strength and peace to be with you and to make this concert, the most powerful and amazing evangelism that anywhere there has ever whitnessed…because when you sing the songs, “Bring the Rain”, and “I Can Only Imagine”, “Finally Home”, “God With Us” and if you sing “Hold Fast”, these words are not only going to break into every heart there tonight, but it’s going to break right into your very hearts….and that’s when the ministry is the strongest. God will use us in all seasons…and I know that in this season and time when you are leaning on Him for everything….this when we are going to see amazing things, for we have a hope greater then anything we experience on this earth. Praying for you guys. I will be there in spirit, wishing I could fly in from CA to support you guys tonight.

  • Antonio Gomez

I pray for healing for your driver. The guilt I’m sure he is feeling is not his own and I hope he can get to the place where he knows that.

  • Christina Elliott

I just read of the accident in our local newspaper. My heart is heavy with grief. May God work through you, as He already has numerous times, to minister to the accident victims families. Stay Strong!

My dear friends in Christ. I am going through a season where Satan seems to be attacking on all fronts and in 1 month my my daughter is moving. I loose my job,I have to move, You know how it goes. So I had been praying and praising God for the great things he must have in store for me after this storm. The rainbows only come after the storm. The other day your song I can only imagine came to mind. I looked it up on Youtube. I have been playing it almost constantly. If not on the computer in my mind and spirit. It has brought me great comfort and I feel Gods love come over me. I stand in his presence here on earth and he shows me how it only looks like satan is winning. How all the things that I have no control over, HE does. How satan loves to mess with the ones he feels threatened by. How God is using it all to move me into a better place to bless me in greater ways than where I am now. As I close my eyes and imagine I’m standing in the Son, I pray that you all and the familys of the victims will find such comfort in these dark days. That God will bring to your mind just the right thing, or words, or person, or song that you can hold in your spirit and know that HE is in control. He knows your pain and He will use it to bless others through you. Thank you for sharing your gift and helping me through this season in my life. May that comfort you have given me come back to you all a thousand fold. kim

  • Rhonda Egler

For we know that all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose… Romans 8: 28 While we don’t know why… and we don’t understand… what we do know is that God is sovereign. He didn’t cause this but we know He will bring good out of it. God, show us Your glory !!!!!!

  • Jimbo

Father, Though we here see only with our eyes and in our point in time, help us to rest all these events in your perfeect care. Father, nothing happens here that you do not have a perfect plan for. I say this not to lessen the tragedy and sorrow we all feel, but express the faith in Your mighty hand, and in your perfect power. Lord, for all those involved, I ask that Your peace that transcends all understanding would guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Do not allow the enemy to use this to harm those. Grant your grace and peace to flow from heaven and cover those directly involved. Father, I ask that you use this to deepen our faith and trust in You. Bring comfort to those whose hearts are heavy and grant tthem peace. Bless them Father, I pray, in the blessed name of Jesus! Amen.

Bart, Jim, and Mike, since we met you at SOTO we have never stopped praying for you and the rest of the group. We will continue and add the affected families to those prayers. Blessings to you all as you work through these difficult days.

  • Heather in Fort Wayne

My brother and I were at your show on Friday night in Ft Wayne. We still cannot believe this roller coster of emotion- we left the concert on a spiritual high and then felt tremendous sorrow the next morning as we learned what happened. The local coverage is saying that the driver, Kara, is still in critical condition and I am sure you have heard that she lost the baby. They are still searching for answers that only Kara may have. The families of the lost ones were interviewed and they are having a hard time coming up with funds to bury their loved ones. Please continue to pray for their healing and strength. We will also be praying for all of you as you recover and find mercy in god’s healing hands. As you mentioned on Friday before singing bring the rain it is all for his glory but gosh, this is hard to unerstand at the moment.
Prayers and love from Ft Wayne,

  • Carrie ~ Fort Wayne

I took my husband to the concert at Parkview field for our anniversary. It was an amazing concert! We had to leave early because I has to work early in the morning at the hospital in the E.R. As I sat down in a world of chaos, I began to talk about what a wonderful evening my husband and I had. Unfortunately I was then informed of what had happened that followed your departure. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Throughout the day myself and several others keep you and everyone involved in the crash in our thoughts and prayers and we worked with the aftermath of this sad event. I pray for you all to have strength in this trying time.

  • Patti W (IL)

I was watching the DVD for “10” Sunday afternoon and the bonus material for “I Can Only Imagine”, my favorite of your songs. I then went and bought a newspaper and happened upon the article regarding the accident. I prayed then and have been praying since for all of you and the families of those who are now with the Lord.
I began to think about how the band spoke of all the losses you have all experienced and now here is one more. I also think though of how “I Can Only Imagine” came about.
I pray for peace and healing for all.

    God Bless,

  • Laura

My sister and I were driving home from the hospital Saturday morning around two in the morning and saw the police and fire rescue at that intersection. My grandmother almost died. It has been on all the local news with an interview with one of the deceased family members and there is no insurance to bury them. Can you imagine losing your sister is bad enough but to not be able to give her a proper funeral. I feel so bad for the families of those that didn’t make it. They were so young.

  • Anonymous

I know many are praying for you all, and for the other people/families, and so am I…so there’s one more praying.

    Rom 8:28
    Is 41:10

(Just a couple of the verses my life hinges upon.)

  • Damaris

God will give stregth and courage to you all. And mercy to those who passed on. As we are all shaken by this tragedy, let us be sure that He is in control.

  • Lisa May

My heart sank for you guys when I read the article in the paper. I am so sorry that you and these families are having to deal with this. One thing I am thankful for though, is that you know our heavenly Father and I know He will guide you guys thru this and can help the families deal with their losses. I am praying for you and my thoughts are with you….May our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, see you thru this and give you comfort and peace.

  • Sally Bodewes

  • Cyndee (Wa)

Sometimes it is hard for us to understand why things like this happen. I am still trying to come to terms with the death of my mother almost a year ago. I just pray that they are in a better place right now, dancing with Jesus.

  • Casondra from Fort Wayne

I grew up with Kara, and i didn’t hear about the news until very early Sunday morning before work. I was devastated. I am glad that your okay. I thought you guys might want an update as well. She is stable but in a coma. Shes breathing on her own but has a breathing machine just in case. Shes reacting to pain and she is able to move her hands, arms, feet, and head. She isnt out of the woods just yet but with everyones support, she should pull through just fine. She had a slight fever yesturday but her temp is back to around normal now. People should be able to visit her in the next two weeks or so. We just need everyone to keep praying for her revival. I am relieved that she’s going to be alright (that we know as of now) and i am saddened for the other families. I knew Babara, and she was a really great girl. I just can’t understand why kara would pull out in front of a huge bus like that. And the news said that she was going at a high speed, but the only thing i can think of why should would do that is if she was going into labor? I have no idea. Just keep her in your prayers, and i am glad that all of you are okay.

  • Amber Klinker

Hello everyone. I want to start off by saying that this has rocked the very foundtations of our small close family. I am Karas cousin. Kara, her sister, and I are all very close. We are more like best friends than mere cousins. Kara is a very bright young girl that loves her family and friends more than anything. She would do anything for us. We are praying so hard. We want to thank everyone one here that is also praying. It is overwhelming how many people are praying for her. I started crying when i got to this page due to the volume of good people that are out there. Thank you again.

    Amber Klinker

  • Deann B

My family and I will be praying for you!!

  • Deann and Mike B.

We feel deeply saddened by what happened. Our thoughts and prayers are you with you!! God will be with you. Our family loves the song “I can only imagine”. God bless you all.

  • Betsy Fladung

As I read the comments, the ones that jump off the screen at me were the ones written by the family members of the young people in the car. Their ability to speak calmly, to reach out publicly, seeking God’s face alongside the band in the midst of their pain, is a testimony to me of God’s grace. I continue to pray for these families and for Kara’s healing. My heart also aches for the guys in MercyMe and the crew and their families. Knowing these guys, I know how utterly devastated they are over this horrible wreck. They are no strangers to loss and pain. Their compassion and faith is authentic and profound. I know God will speak and minister to people through them through this unimaginably painful tragedy because they have given their lives to glorifying Him. I pray God will continue to use them to speak His love.

  • Patti & Sharon

We’re so Thankful you are all OK, and our hearts go out to the Families. You’re all in our prayers. You guys are such a Blessing to all of us. God really has anointed you and we’re praying He will give you Peace in this time of sorrow.

Prayers are with you and the families of those involved.
    Romans 8:27-28 (New International Version)
27And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.

    More Than Conquerors
28And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,[a] who[b] have been called according to his purpose.

  • Bobby Ovieda

My family and I lift up the families of the other car in prayer and thank the Lord Almighty that his hands were over the ones that survived but in all honesty this is another example of what the word of God says about that tomorrow’s not promised Amen

I just read about the accident on KLTY’s website. I am so sorry to hear about this terrible tragedy. I was relieved to read that everyone in the band was alright. Then as I read on, that relief turned to sadness. It is so hard to understand why God allows things like this to happen. All of us who are believers have heard the “comfort scriptures” like ” All things work for good for those who love the Lord, and are called to his purpose” or “Cast all your cares on Him for He cares for you” and “blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted”. Even though it is still very difficult, I pray that such thoughts and words will give all involved a way to cope with this loss. I pray He will grant you all the kind of peace that surpasses all understanding. I pray that the healing hand of the Great Physician will touch Kara and make her and the driver whole in body and spirit. I pray that through this tragedy, there may be one soul that is brought to the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Prayers and Blessings from Mansfield, Texas

It seems the “rain has been brought”, I pray for you all, the driver, Kara, her family and their incredible losses – may God bring you all peace and rest in HIM- the only true restorer! Your good friend MH once wrote: Who am I? that the Lord of all the earth, Would care to know my name, would care to feel my hurt – He knows each person involved and now feels all the hurts involved in this tragedy! May there be healing, may God find a way to use this to further HIS kingdom! The words of your music often remind us of all that matters in our challenges and struggles in this worldly life – you daily remind us to focus on our future eternal life- thank you for your ministry and faithfulness to the Lord GOD. Know that your fans are lovin’ and prayin’ on you guys all over this!!!We hold the hurting of the family involved in continuous prayer now and in the days ahead!

Such a tragic event! My prayers and love goes out to the families who have lost their dear ones. Let this not break our faith but instead make us stronger. We serve a powerful God, and rest assure, He will never let us go.

  • Scott

I want to let you know you are prayed for this morning along with the others involved. May the Lord take the burdens of your hearts and comfort you as well as the other folks involved as it would be easy to let the enemy of our faith try to discourage you from doing the work our Lord has called you to in music.

  • Tink Tink

Thank you for a wonderful, worshipful evening at Parkview Field. We are new to Fort Wayne and have not found a church home yet. So, to be able to worship with the body of Christ in the capacity that your concert allowed was a blessing to our family.

We were very sorry to hear about the accident. When my 8 year old daughter heard about it she said, “I hope they remember what they talked about at the concert last night. How when bad things happen we should remember that all things will glorify God.” We will continue to pray for everyone affected by this tragedy.

  • Kim

Praying for all of you involved and the families and friends of the injured and those that passed. It is not always understood why these things happen or why God involves who is involved. My heart broke when I heard what had happened. I have been praying for all of you on the bus as well as the families of the ones in the car ever since. I know that God has an ultimate plan, but sometimes it is hard to believe that when you have to go through something so tragic. I will continue to pray for healing for Kara and for all the people on the bus. May the Lord be with you all!

    Lord Jesus,
God, be with the mother of the baby Lord. Be with the families of these young kids. God, you know the ins and outs of the situation. You know why the teens pulled out in front of the bus. You also know their hearts. Jesus, would you send Your spirit to comfort these families. Use this to speak to their hearts, that life is but a vapor. God, use this situation to speak to the nations that we aren’t guaranteed tomorrow. Lord, would you give the families and friends peace. God, comfort MercyMe as well. This must be so hard to go through. Show them that You are in control. Lord, would you use them to impact the nations for your sake. May they be salt and light in the world. Lord, use their reactions to this accident to break in to hard hearts. Jesus, we don’t understand why things happen sometimes. But you do. Would you help those that hear of the accident to not harden their hearts toward you in thinking, “How could a good God let this happen?” Would You open the eyes of our hearts to understand that we won’t understand some things. Lord Jesus, I just ask that You would love the ones involved in this accident. Just show them how much You love and cherish them.

    In Jesus Name,

  • James

Just read about accident. May the LORD Bless you all and comfort all involved. God is still in control even when we don’t know why he allows things to happen to us. The Devil is trying hard to defeat us but we must remind him he was defeated at the cross.
    Praying for ya’all.

I am so sorry to hear of the tragic accident. Know that God is still on His Throne and will be walking closely next to you and the families during this season. You may never know this side of heaven why God allowed this to happen but know that what the enemy means for harm, God uses for good. Also know that Southern Illinois is praying for you as for myself and my friends at First Baptist Church Marville.

“For I know the plans I have for you, ” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. you will seek me and find me when you seek me with All your heart. Jeremiah 29:11-13 These verses have given me much comfort in times of trials. My first born child was stillborn, and my first live child recently left home on bad terms. I am seeking him with my whole heart. for she is the Lords child she is not mine. And for all of you, The pregnant mother and The Lords child that dwells within her. The Lord has been speaking to me about prayer, mercy, and abiding in him, during the trials that grow our faith. His mercies truly are new every morning and he loves us all faithfully. God Bless you all in Christ Our Prayers are with you all

    Mercy Me-

God bless you guys. I attended the concert in Ft Wayne, and although things obviously went south after the concert, it was one of the most memorable nights of my life as well as my wife, daughter and son-in-law. It started with the weather miracle and it just got better from there. Pouring down rain until the concert began and God stepped in. Although satan reared his ugly head on the way out of town, I know you touched the lives of all 9000 that was there. He may have delayed the message, but cannot stop it. You were right. God was in that stadium all night long and our hearts did sing and are still singing.

    Praying for you guys.

All of us at EDAN CONCERTS (staff and the volenteers and workers ) who know of this accident are in prayer for all your group, crew and staff in this very ifficult time in your ministry

My heart is with you all as you seek and find healing through the Lord. Following the death of my son in 2003, the message in CCM (including a # of your songs) provided much comfort and healing. I wrote a book about how the Lord so faithfully reminded me of His love. Now, when I am struggling, friends remind me to reflect on and remember what I have written.
So, now I would like to remind you of a few of the incredible messages that you have shared with us thru your music, that you may find comfort and healing & that you may share these messages with the families:
“Here with Me”- Surrender to His love, He is always with you; feel His presence and get lot in His beauty.
“Homesick” – We don’t understand, but Christ gives us strength to make it through somehow.
“I can only imagine” – Our faith is built on the imagery of the day we meet Jesus face to face – when we will be surrounded by His glory – we can only imagine the glorious welcome into Heaven that these young people received from the Lord.
“Keep Singing” – We will keep singing in the memory of love; the Lord is everything we need, just keep praising His name and He sings over us.
“The Love of God” – His love for us is far greater than anything we could ever fathom; “Word of God Speak” – So often the noise of our sorrow drowns out the voice of the Lord; be still and listen for His voice; and you will know that He is with you – in the quiet you will hear His voice.
Thank you for these messages and many more that you provided in my time of need. I pray that you find comfort and peace as you help the families of the tragedy find hope through Christ.
    Only by His Love,
    Judy Marquette from PA

I am really sorry to hear the lone survivor has passed away. God always has a purpose for us and a time to be born and a time to die. We will never understand why some are taken so young or too soon, but God knows. We were never promised tomorrow. Times short and we all need to get right with him. It can come in a blink of an eye. I continue to pray for those involved in the crash, the family members, and the group, and those who continue to not know jesus christ as the own personal savior. all it takes is a simple prayer to ask him in your heart. “Jesus I know I have made mistakes, and the bible says if you ask for forgivess you shall receive. So I come before you and ask you to cleanse me and make me new. I receive your healing and I ask you to come into my heart and make me whole again.” It’s that easy. I believe God was watching over everyone, and the proof is in the picture. I saw the two angels and one of them had the baby as she smiled to take her to heaven. I too was saddened from this event as I heard it on the scanners at work and all I know is God will heal everyone involved and all those it has impacted.

  • Sandi ~ MMslob

I heard about the passing of Kara yesterday when a friend of hers posted it on here, but all of our comments in relation were deleted, probably because there was no news confirmation of it yet. I am deeply saddened by this news. I have and will continue to pray unceasingly for everyone and their families. Those that know the familes, if there is a fund set up, or a place where cards, etc can be sent, please let us know! Praying for you! MercyMe…as you go back to Indiana tonight, I pray for strength and for the Holy Spirit to move in you guys tonight, even more so then normal. I know you are going to have alot of new people there who haven’t heard of you before, because of the accident, and my prayer is that every one of them is touched and spoken to tonight! Praying for you and love you guys!

  • Kaylena Emge

    Hi guys,
My family and I are very sorry to hear of this great tragedy. We are all praying for the families of the victims and most assuredly praying for all of you. As we all know, there are reasons for everything that happens although at the time we do not understand. God will take this accident and bring something good out of it. We love you and we appreciate all that you all do for the kingdom of God. We love you brothers. God bless. Kaylena

Our Heavenly Father, I come before you today with a great sadness and terrible burden on my heart. I ask for your loving arms to wrap around the families of the angels that were lost in this tragic accident and to also lift up the members of Mercy Me as they too have a life time of tragedy to endure. Father we know you are in control and you will glorify from this and you will lift each and every one up to seek you, your love and your guidance. In your Sons Holy and precious Name… Diane from Chino Valley, Arizona.

  • David Cochran

Why do tragic things happen to good people? Why do the innocent suffer? There are so many questions at a time like this, and any answers, however correct they may be; don’t seem to be enough for the pain. When we try to answer the “Why God” questions, we may get it right, we might not. But I feel very deeply that God is indeed in control, and there are without doubts or confusion, real reasons. Only The Lord knows the Histories and the Futures of us all. These precious souls who have passed from this life to the next are indeed in His Hands. When we do stand before Our Lord and Saviour, no one will shake their fist and say “God, how could you let this happen?” For “The ways of the Lord are right, and all His works are done in truth.” We can’t understand many things now, but in that day, we will see, and we will understand that in God’s Eternal plans; there is indeed a reason.

I am very sorry for this tragic story that has occured. My heart goes out to the families of the people who lost their lives especially the expectant mother and child. As far as she was in her pregnancy what a tragedy for this to happen. I know she and baby will be angels for their family along with the others. I pray that you Mercy Me will continue to sing praise even though your hearts are weighing so much. I hope God will give you’ll courage and peace and know that the music you do helps so many others in situations just like this. God bless all the broken hearts involved may they continue to beat and lift.

  • Michelle Wise

The Lord will take this most aweful event and make it beautiful somehow. Praying that the families to “hold on”.

  • Timothy McCoole

All involved in this tragedy have been lifted to Him in prayer this evening. You in one of the best bands in Christian music will persevere and will, without a doubt in my mind, will use this experience and the souls of all involved in future music.

We are not to question His plans but we do need to remember that He is in control and His love will never end.

May you be blessed in all you do

  • Mary Teasley

There is a reason….God always has a reason for the things that he does. I want to tell you how sorry I am, and that I am praying for everyone in the band and their families. I am also praying for the families of the people who died in the accident. God holds all the cards, he knows all the answers. Only God can see the big picture. We can only see a part of his plan. I believe that he had a reason for this accident. Maybe it was to draw you closer as a band, or maybe to give you a break to go home and be with your families. Your music is a great gift, the writing, the playing, the singing. I believe that the band draws people closer to Christ. To God. I will keep praying for you, and all of you keep praying that He will show you the reason behind this tragedy. Things will get better……

  • Holly

May the lord be with you and the families of the victims!!!

  • Joanne

Oh Father, my heart just weeps for the Klinker Family and friends, as it does for Dario and Barbara’s. Lord I know this didn’t catch You off guard and You even tell us that ‘Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His’. You were with them when they took their last breath and we thank you for comforting them.

Now Lord, their friends and families desperately need comforting that can only come from their loving ‘heavenly Daddy’. Please Father God minister to them as only You can. In time, bring comfort, healing, mercy and Your peace to their hearts.

Thank You Lord for those You are using to reach out. I think of the co-workers of Dario’s Dad. Thank You for Daniel who posted from the Middle East to ask for help/ prayer for his friend’s family. Lord please give the workers an extra measure of grace and protection as they do their jobs with the great sadness of their friend on their hearts.

I also thank you for Janet, Susan, Amber and Brandi and the others whom You are and will use. Please Lord minister to these people as well, for their hearts weep too.

We know that is is true that You will use this…. please Father, please remember that we are but flesh and blood … Jesus wept even though He knew He was about to raise Lazerus.

The Klinkers, Boutes, Schmuckers, MercyMe, their bus driver, Miss Doris’ and everyone who has been touched, no matter how: are all flesh and blood and are hurting. I beg You on their behalf for the comfort that Only you can bring.
I pray in Jesus most precious Name, thank you, Amen

  • Ginger Webb

You all have my Prayer. I could not be at your concert tonight at the Indiana State Fair. Friends and family were there. I know this was a hard show for you to do. Please know that you are lover and prayed for.
Thank you all for your devotion to God.

i was at world pulse fest when we heard we prayed for everyone

I cried this morning when I heard it on our Christian Rock station WFHM 95.5 The Fish. I cannot fathom the pain that the families are experiencing since the driver has passed away; but she is now with her baby in Heaven. Although I don’t understand tragedies such as these, I trust that God will carry everyone through the pain and anguish. I pray for all of you and know that God will also get you through this. May He shine on all of you and your families. And thank you for what you do – sharing God’s message with the world – what a true gift to share!

  • Tracy

So sad to hear that Kara passed away last night. I can’t even imagine how these families feel and I know the band has suffered as well.

Trust that God will show all involved His great plan. I’m sincerely sorry for your loss.

  • Connie

Father, I lift up my brothers to you. As the Creator of all things, including emotions and feelings, you are able to see the needs of the hearts of these amazing gentlemen and the needs of the families who have lost their loved ones. God, while we can not fathom the agony that they are feeling right now, I pray that you are able to make this bad time in each of their lives glorious for your name’s sake. God, be the Comforter and perfect Father for them. Give them strength to trust you and to love you through this. Hold the grieving families tightly in your hands. Amen

  • Gloria Zanes

My church and I are all praying for you all and the victims families. Tragedy like this doesn’t seem of God at all, but things do happen for a reason and He is in CONTROL. Please keep your heads up and praying to God for strenght. Our pastor says that satan is trying so hard to split up and destroy
God’s workers. But we all know satan is gonna be the loser, not us. Love you all. Keep up the great music, don’t let satan get you down.

i was sorry to hear about the accident and thank god MM is okay. But my heart was saddened when i heard about the people in the other car. My heart goes out to the teenage driver who was 35 wks. pregnant and lost her baby. God does work in mysterious ways and i know there was a reason why he took those lives up to heaven with him. I believe the driver’s name was Kara, and i hope somehow you see this. As a mother of two i couldnt imagine going trough what you are going through, i know that if i didnt have God in my life i probably couldnt handle it, but God is the best comfort a person could have and he will carry you through this if you need him to. I also have nieces and nephews and about six years ago my sister lost her second child at 20 wks due to complications in the pregnancy. He lived for four hours. That was a very hard time for her and her husband and also the rest of our family. I had many feelings and I did not understand why it had to happen to us. But I decided better us as a family that has been brought up to know that God has a plan for everything and for some reason he wanted my nephew. inside the pamphlet handed out at his funeral is a very heartfelt poem and it says this: Little Angels When God calls little children to dwell with him above, We mortals sometimes question the wisdom of his love. For no heartache compares with the death of one small child who does so much to make our world seem wonderful and mild. Perhaps God tires of calling the aged to his fold, so he picks a rosebud before it can grow old. God knows how much we need them, and so he takes but few to make the land of Heaven more beautiful to view. Believing this is difficult still somehow we must try, The saddest word mankind knows is “goodbye”. So when a little child departs, we who are left behind must realize God loves children, Angels are hard to find.

Praying for all of you; families and friends of the young people and the unborn child as well as everyone in the MercyMe family. Jesus said that wherever we gather in prayer He will be there. We are gathered here on this blog and He hears our every word. Nothing happens without His knowledge, be comforted by his word and know that great blessings will rise out the these ashes.

I just wanted to say let God get you through this time. He will be your strength. I truly believe that everything happens for a reason. This will glorify God somehow.

MercyMe and the families involved in this,
I know it must’ve been scary when this happened.
When they said what happened on Klove, at first I didn’t really understand..And most of all, I didn’t want to believe it.
I cried once I heard the news.
    Going through death isn’t easy..
We all know God does everything for a reason..
Let’s just continue praying for them.

So sorry to hear about the accident. I know this must be a very difficult time for the victims and their families as well as yourselves and your own bunch.

Please know that my prayers are with you all as you go through this valley. Try to rejoice in the little victories as you walk through this new journey knowing that God will no doubt use it to speak to you and help you to write new, encouraging songs for people who are also journeying through the unknown right now.

    Lifting you up.

“For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord. Plans for good not for evil. To give you a life, a future and a hope”.

He works together “all things” for the good of those who love Him. Just a little reminder . . . in case you needed one today.
