Back In The South

We’re driving thru Alabama on our way to our nephew’s baseball game. It’s been a crazy few days….not much sleep and we need a break from this RV in a bad way. Loved the trip, but TX to Maine and back in 10 days was a bit

Hope your jamming to Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Sweet Home Alabama as your driving through the state. Gotta love the south!

    Glad you enjoyed your trip.

Know what you mean about the RV. One year when our kids were about 14, 11, and 7 we took a trip from where we live Indiana to Jamestown Va, Washington DC then to South Carolina then to Florida and back to Pigeon Forge, TN and finally back home all in a conversion van in about 12 days. We stayed in hotels, but the driving was crazy. Glad you had a safe trip. Even through everything, we have those memories and they really aren’t too bad.

Take the word of an experienced RV traveler with 4 boys. Never go more than 400 miles in a day. Stop every 1 1/2 to 2 hours. If you don’t have any where else, make it a rest stop. I would get my kids out and make them run around for at least 10 minutes. Every time they would stop, I would get after them. This cut out on a lot of the “he’s touching me” stuff. When we had the opportunity, we took a 2 hour break mid afternoon and tried to get to the campsite no later than 5:00. Believe it or not, we had a lot of fun traveling around. Children need regular exercise or they will drive you crazy, even at home.

Unlike a loan, it can still cost the person leasing the van quite a bit even if they want to settle the lease early. Unlike a vehicle loan, settling early with a van lease usually means that the individual still needs to pay the interest on the remaining months.
