A Game Of Hope

After watching a great superbowl, I saw this on our local news. It melted my heart. So since we are in a football mood. Here ya go. It’s ok to cry. I did…a lot.

That was just down right GOOOOOOOD!!!
We all need a boost sometimes.

On another note, I can’t tell you how many times in the last week that some of your songs have entered my life. I of course watched the Finally Home video. It is awesome. I have also had a few friends going thru rough times. A family of 12 that lost the oldest son due to drowning last year, lost the dad to cancer on Sat. You have a few songs that are comforting for grieving people. Last night at church, we sang I can only Imagine. That will never quit giving me Holy Ghost bumps. It is a joy to connect with you all and see the “real” guys. And yes, YOU all are definitely “real” guys. LOL

Thanks for letting God work through you.

Oh how wonderful!! I cried too!! Watching those boys run through the spirit line with all the fans cheering! It was great!

Beautiful! Thank you for this. It’s amazing what can happen when one person steps outside of themselves and thinks about the other side. What an act of selflessness on the part of the home team coach.

Thanks for the reminder that God works in big ways through small things.

*sniff* Now I have to go redo my makeup before I can go to work. But it is so worth it!

Have I said that I am addicted to your “Hymned Again” CD? My boys are threatening to revolt! Ha! Ha!

That was wonderful. Thanks for posting it.

  • Erin H

Wow! That was an amazing video. We are no different than those boys. Thank you for posting that. They will never forget the christian love that was shown to them, and neither will I. I am a new follower of MercyMe. Thank you for the words you sing. You took them from my heart. Bless you all!

“They got to be kids.” What an impact. That act of real love warms me to my core. It is refreshing and uplifting to see true humility in action. They loved those students as God does–as they are and not as they should be.

  • Marc G

Thanks for sharing the video. I thought it was better then the super bowl. I posted a link on my Facebook page to yours to watch it also.
    Thanks again,
    Marc

I had heard about this but I had not seen the video. And yes, it made me cry too. We should all show kindness like this every day. We never know what a person is going through and how one act of kindness can mean so much to another.

I am so glad Sophie is better and at home.

What a beautiful story…who are we to judge? Everyone deserves to be treated like a person. God bless those kids!
And I pray God’s blessing and protection over them…thanks for sharing!

Praise God… what wonderful students, parents, and staff in Texas! As their saying goes, everything is big in Texas including their hearts!!

Thanks for sharing… that is awesome!

  • Sheryl

We always talk about Christ’s love, but it means so much more when we actually see it in action. Such a great reminder that we are all forgiven and given so many chances because of who He is.

  • Rae Lynne

Thanks for sharing…that was an awesome & inspirational video. Everyone needs to be lifted up & encouraged at some time…it’s amazing how ‘spirit changing’ that was for those young men.

Bart, my husband & I were at Breakforth in Edmonton, AB, Canada this past weekend & I was so touched by your presence & your story. The concert was great, but I feel that you & your family also need some encouragement after all that you have been dealing with. The Lord is awesome & powerful & has indeed worked wonders in your life…Sophie’s recovery is a true testimony to just what God can do…Heavenly Father, hear our prayers. We thank You for Your amazing love. Lord, we thank You for Your amazing healing power & are grateful & blessed. Embrace Bart, his wife, his family, the band & all the lives they touch. Your presence is obvious in their lives, as we see Your love shines through them & all they do. Embrace them with Your loving arms & comfort them, heal them and may Your presence be known in all they do. When times are tough, may they be reminded of Your amazing love, and may they reach to You Lord with outstretched arms for the compassion & comfort that only You can provide. May they live the life You want them to live…Your will be done Lord…In Jesus’ Name, Amen!

Wow….they saw those kids as God sees those kids!! And they acted on love your neighbor as yourself!! What a powerful testimony of God when believers live out what God asks. Their actions could have an eternal impact on those kids and on others who see what they did. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Thank you for posting this so we could enjoy it. And that I did!
What a blessing the Holy Spirit shared through these people.
I had to send it on to others (who admittedly cried) on a Faith board.
A powerful testimony to Christ’s endless love.

  • Dan

Yep….tears of the Spirit flowed on that one. If that’s “grace telling another story” I don’t know what is!!

Thanks for sharing this with us! God bless!!

  • Lisa V (MMsbiggestfans)

I heard about this on the radio but watching the video really brought it to life and tears to my eyes. Thank you for sharing. I hope Sam feels better soon and I am glad Sophie is home.
    God Bless You all!!!

…since i live near Baltimore, I know a lot of people who are from Baltimore city and if you know anything about inner city Baltimore, it’s probably (if not definitely) bad, -and totally true. So i can tell you that this will probably change some of those boy’s lives.

This was an awesome video!!!!! We need to see more of this type of life in our teens and others as well!!!

God is Good and does take care of his own and we are all his!!!!

May God bless all those who saw the value in those troubled kids…the good work done for those kids made us realize how different it is to look into the light of hope…i always believed that the mistakes and wrongs that we make, either the trivial or the worst of their kind, will never make us less of a person. we are all children of God, and those kids are children of God, and praise the Lord for that game and the people behind it. Love can really change lives…
