Mr. Mom…Or How DOES She Do It?!?!?!

mr_mom
Seriously…
Abby leaves the house for a few hours to go get her hair cut and swing by the grocery store…doesn’t sound like a big deal, right???? Well the other side of the coin is that I am now in complete “charge” of the kids…hahahahahahahahaha!!!!!! that’s funny, huh? This blog is only to praise my wife. She does this ALL the time when we’re out on the road. We don’t have family close by, and aside from the folks at our church pitching in from time to time, she is all alone in this.

I can’t make it 4 hours without wanting to pull out my hair and lock them all in their rooms and curl up in the fetal position in the bath tub….frightening imagery, I know. She never complains about it…it is her joy to do. i love my kids, but I have decided there are reasons why men are “the hunter/gatherers”…basically, I’m a horrible homemaker. So here’s to you Abby….the most AMAZING, WONDERFUL, PATIENCE FILLED WOMAN on the earth!!!!!! I love you.

Yes she is Amazing but so are you and don’t let him kid you SLOBS he is a great Dad when he is home – alone or otherwise. I think he is just ready to get back on the road…I will say after a week out there for Millie’s 3rd Birthday they do wear you out. Back home in Florida and I just woke up from a very nice nap. Eat you heart out Mike and keep up the good work.

Parenting is a tough gig, no doubt about it. It does get easier (physically at least) as they get older (mentally however…) I hope your wife had an amazing time out of the house, and has a great new “do”. I’m sure you did just fine. Besides, dads are the “fun” ones.

Its a tough job to take of children all day. I know your kids loved spending time with Mr. Mom.

I think woman “go run errands” just so the men can be reminded of what they have to do all day, everyday!
kudo’s to you for seeing it and putting on the blog!

    Lol that’s funny.

You should monogram your thanks on a pillowcase so that while you are away she will see it each night before she goes to sleep!

I know she appreciates you taking care of the kids so she can have those “sanity” moments. I certainly adore my sweet husband when he lets me have my “sanity” moments.

First off, Good Job Mike for recognizing how amazing she is. Just don’t let her forget it. Second, WAY TO GO AMY!!! It is a full time job and a half. I think sometimes, we forget that and how extrememly important the job is. Nothing else compares to raising kids. I understand the no back up and it does get hard at times. Through it all, children are a blessing from the Lord. It is wonderful that you are all good examples of parents for your fans to relate with. Thanks!

Kudos to you for complimenting your wife. As a stay at home Mom myself I appreciate you saying that so much. The picture is funny!

Mike, I am convinced that women were created superior to man when it comes to children. If Abby ever needs some phone help have her call Traci at 2699799278 and they can vent! Traci is another one of those amazing women that spends every day with our six girls and lone drone Eli! Organizing, homeschooling, cooking, playing, gardening, milking goats, sewing, and the list goes on. The thing that gets me is sometimes she is up at 4:00 AM because she’s not tired…not me. At 4:00AM I’m on so many God-Made sleeping drugs I don’t know what planet I’m on. Anyway, way to build up your awesome wife! Hope to see you soon.

From another MercyMe wife, I just wanted you to know how much I throughly enjoyed this post! In fact, I’ve never written anything on this website before but broke my silence for this. Way to go, Mike, for giving a shout out to your amazing wife who is by the way an equally terrific Mom! We love it when you guys admit how helpless you are without us! ;0)

    Mike,

Just face it. Like most of the male population you married WAY up!!! I know that I did.

Thanks for your dedication to telling the story through your music. You will only really appreciate how it has impacted when you see them face to face in Heaven.

    Mike G.

p.s. I checked in on Compton the other day.. he is doing well.

Hey, Mike! Loved you guys at Night Of Joy ’08! 🙂 I admire your love and appreciation for your wife. You’re a sweet heart!
You guys are awesome. I love your music and your cover tune grab bags crack me up! XD
I noticed that you grew up in Bartow, Fla. I lived there for a few months as a teen. I can’t help but wonder if we might have went to Bartow Middle School together. Of course, I wouldn’t remember since I never really got to know anyone except for a girl named Joy. (I was very shy and being from the North, I got called “damn Yankee” all the time.) Gosh, I don’t even remember any of the teachers’ names, but I do remember answering on my astronomy test that the universe was created by God and not by the “big bang theory”. (Of course, it was marked “wrong”, but I wasn’t seeking an A+ from HER.)
You wouldn’t happen to remember a stringy-brown haired, brace faced “dork” from the North named Lorraine (Lori) Cristina, would you? 😉 If not, you might remember the excited goof-ball in blue that was the only person glued to the railing at Disney! Come see your pic on my blog! I had a blast singing my heart out along with you guys! Thanks for all you do! Love in Christ, ~Lori~
